Tangs and other marine herbivores are among the most demanding fish to feed well in captivity. They graze almost continuously in the wild on algae and spirulina-rich material, and a diet that does not reflect this leaves them susceptible to colour loss, reduced immunity and poor long-term condition.

Dry flakes and generic pellets rarely carry the spirulina content that makes a meaningful difference to marine grazers. The result is fish that look dull, lack the vitality of well-fed specimens, and gradually decline despite clean water and good husbandry. The nutritional gap is real, and it shows over weeks and months.

Reefphyto Premium Spirulina Granules are a high-spirulina granule food available in 100g, formulated for marine fish with significant plant-matter requirements, particularly tangs, angelfish and other reef grazers, and suitable as a supplementary feed for tropical fish too. The granule format partially floats and partially sinks, ensuring fish feeding at all levels of the tank have access. Protein 37%, fat 6%, moisture 8%, ash 10.1%, fibre 1.8%. Ingredients: fish and fish derivatives, spirulina, molluscs and crustaceans, cereals, yeasts, derivatives of vegetable origin, oils and fats.

Used consistently alongside live foods, the difference accumulates in the way colour development in marine fish always does - gradually and then unmistakably.
