Frequently Asked Questions

Will coral glue bond to the transparent PETG surface? Yes. Standard cyanoacrylate frag glue and two-part epoxy putty both bond to PETG reliably. The textured top surface improves adhesion compared to a smooth surface, clean the plug top of any dust before applying adhesive for best results. Will the transparent plugs become visible once coralline algae grows on them? Coralline algae will encrust transparent plugs over time in the same way it does coloured ones. The difference is that until encrustation happens, the transparent plug is less visually prominent than a white one once coralline has colonised the stem and base the plug blends into the rockscape naturally. Does the stem fit all frag racks? The 11mm stem fits the 12mm hole standard used across the Reefphyto range and most commercially available frag racks. If you are using a rack with a non-standard hole diameter, check compatibility before ordering. Can they be reused after a coral has fully encrusted? Reuse after full encrustation is generally not practical, the coral tissue and coralline will bond to the plug surface and removing it without damage to the frag is difficult. The plugs are designed as single-use mounting surfaces.
